This large and impressive 19th century English oil painting on canvas depicts a Victorian court scene with a lady appealing in front of a judge in a courtroom. Housed with a period gilt wood frame.
Thomas George Duval was a genre and landscape painter in London in the nineteenth century. He exhibited from 1840 to 1879, mainly at the royal Academy and Suffolk Street. Among his works are: Dutch fishing boat, Charite Du Roi Canut, Scene in the abandoned village"
