Manuel Monton Bunuel (Spanish, b. 1940), a moody Winter street scene, oil on canvas, signed Bunuel lower right, An expressive contemporary oil painting, the artist has applied the paint in hurried strokes using a palette knife. This gives depth to the composition and creates interesting textures.
Manuel Monton Bunuel was born in 1940 in Barcelona, Spain. He studied medicine at the Universida de Zaragoza and served in the military from 1960 to 1962. Upon completion of his military service he studied painting in Paris for six years subsequently returning to Barcelona to paint professionally. He resides in Palma de Mallorca.
