About the Item
Simon Bisley, English, born 1962, graphite and ink on paper drawing of the bound Christ on deep black ground, 2000. Signed and dated on the lower right: Simon 00. Framed. One of a kind artwork. Note: Simon Beasley is a comic book artist whose work was especially popular in the 1990s with his name associated with ABC Warriors, a comic strip about robots, Lobo, a Black-American anti hero, and Slaine, a fantasy series based on Celtic myths. Bisley uses paints, inks and airbrushes for his comic illustrations and is much inspired by rock album covers and graffiti as well as the work of illustrators Frank Frazetta and Bill Sienkiewicz.
