About the Item
A tall portrait painting of a gray-haired man on canvas. This piece is by an unknown outsider artist. It features an older gentleman with clipped gray and brown hair and a tan suit jacket on a vibrant green background. The piece is particularly interesting as it shows the artist's thought patterns through his lines in pencil above the paint. Almost as though he has highlighted the areas he may have been unhappy with. Though the painting is unsigned, its giving "Clare Seglem" undertones. We think this piece would be wonderful in a room with hints of green to play off the background. It would also be fabulous if hung with a collection of other portrait paintings in a room to give it a bigger impact.

Sourced from the estate of the late Oklahoma artist Clair Seglam. An airforce man for most of his life, Seglem only began painting after his retirement. Most known for his vibrant portraits and nudes, he completed a vast portfolio of work before he died in 2020.
