About the Item

Antique print titled 'Kooren-Buers'. Original antique print of the 'Korenbeurs' in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The Korenbeurs (""grain bourse"") was a 17th-century commodity market in Amsterdam where grain was traded. The building stood on the banks of the Amstel, on the western side (Nieuwezijde) of the Damrak. It was directly south of the Oude Brug bridge, on a spot now occupied by the former stock and commodity exchange Beurs van Berlage. This print originates from 'Beschryvinge van Amsterdam, zynde een naukeurige verhandelinge van desselfs (..)' by C. Commelin. Published 1726. Artists and Engravers: Casparus Commelin (1636-1693), publisher and bookseller in Amsterdam. Condition: Very good, passe-partout/matting included. Please study image carefully. Date: 1726 Overall size: 28 x 25.5 cm. Whilst cartography holds a special place in our collection, we also offer thousands of antique prints covering fields of interest as diverse as architecture, natural history, religion, ethnology and many more. Antique prints have long been appreciated for both their aesthetic and investment value. They were the product of engraved, etched or lithographed plates. These plates were handmade out of wood or metal, which required an incredible level of skill, patience and craftsmanship. Whether you have a house with Victorian furniture or more contemporary decor an old engraving can enhance your living space. We offer a wide range of authentic antique prints for any budget.
