About the Item
Early 20th Century SS Leviathan US Lines print on canvas. This is a print on canvas showing the SS Leviathan, a historic ocean liner. Originally launched as the Vaterland for the Hamburg-America Line, it was seized by the US during World War I and renamed Leviathan. It served as a troop transport during the war and later as a flagship for the United States Lines, crossing the North Atlantic from 1914 to 1934. The print depicts the ship in its post-war configuration, with the United States Lines livery. This is a great piece of history of a Ocean liner that served in war and also as a passenger ship. Most prints like this one were used by travel agency's to promote the shipping lines. Overall in good condition with a wood frame a nice piece.
