An impressively sized and meticulously executed American Frohse pulldown anatomical chart depicting the human circulatory system, published by A.J. Nystrom & Co., Chicago. Plate No. 4 in an influential series of large, highly detailed color lithographs initiated by German anatomist and doctor Fritz Frohse. Annotated in English, and edited and augmented by famed medical illustrator Max Brödel. On heavy canvas backed paper with wood bar and spring roller. Matching green canvas trim and enameled metal mounting bracket. Dimensions below are for chart; overall width is 46.5 in. We offer Plates No. 5, 7 (signed by Brödel), and 8 in separate listings.

    Wear consistent with age and use. In great antique condition. Very faint and limited discoloration and a bit of light wear to edges of chart and along bottom where it meets canvas trim. Some small and mostly superficial marks and signs of light tarnish on mounting bracket.
