“John Gould was a prolific illustrator of ornithology and was noted for the beauty of his illustrations. During his lifetime he was responsible for the illustration of over 2,200 different species of birds from around the world.
The work for which he is best known is his Monograph of the Trochilidae or the ""Family of Hummingbirds"", which was produced between 1849-1861. Each hand-colored lithograph, many of which are highlighted with shimmering iridescence, presents the tiny jewel-like birds visiting lush flowers and foliage.”
“Henry Constantine Richter (7 June 1821 – 16 March 1902) was an English zoological illustrator who produced a very large number of skillful coloured lithographs of birds and mammals, mainly for the scientific books of the renowned English 19th century ornithologist John Gould.
Many of the original drawings used by Richter as the basis for his coloured lithographs were by Gould's wife, Elizabeth Coxen, produced before her death in 1841.[1][2]
Richter's reputation was overshadowed by that of his much-celebrated employer. Since it was not customary to acknowledge illustrators alongside authors in the titles of publications, his name was forgotten. But in 1978, his great ability and the extent of his contribution to Gould's work came to light, in the work of the researcher Christine E. Jackson.”

A beautiful and exceedingly engaging limited edition etching/print titled "Street Booth, Tokyo New Years Eve" by famed Australian/American painter/artist/master printmaker Martin Lewis (1881-1962). This image was created in 1927.
Lewis was born in Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia in 1881 but migrated to the United States in 1900. After working in San Francisco and New York he then traveled to Japan to study Japanese art for two years. Lewis eventually returned to the US and settled back in New York in the early 1920s where he would experience his most artistically productive breakthrough period (between 1925-1935) in which he would create some of his most well-known works including this piece. Today, Lewis is universally considered to be one of the most important American printmakers of the twentieth century - a master of light and shadow.
This work is a drypoint etching, printed in black ink on cream wove paper with full margins. A brilliant, luminous, and richly-inked impression. From a noted (McCarron, Paul. The Prints of Martin Lewis: A Catalogue Raisonne, p. 60) edition of 40 recorded impressions. According to McCarron, this is the most accomplished of Lewis' Japan prints: "New Year''s Day is an important holiday in Japan. The Japanese traditionally decorate their streets and homes with shimenawa, knotted straw ropes blessed and purified by Shinto priests...

A beautiful aquatint etching by French Modernist/Impressionist artist Édouard Manet titled "Jeanne (Spring)".
The work is signed in the plate by Manet in the lower margin. It was created in 1882 and is based on his oil on canvas painting Jeanne or Le Printemps (Spring) currently on view at The Getty Museum in Los Angeles.
The work has been professionally matted and framed and comes from the prestigious Kelton Collection in Los Angeles. There is what appears to be a collection accession number on the paper frame backing.
This exact piece can be found in The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) in New York.
