A hand-colored lithograph from Indian Tribes of North America by Thomas McKenney (1785-1859) and James Hall (1793-1868) titled Naw-Kaw or Wood, A Winnebago Chief. The lithograph by Lehman and Duval after Charles Bird King. Published by E.C. Biddle, Philadelphia.
Presented in an intentionally ebonized frame with revealing red subsurface, gold fluted fillet, glazed. Custom framed by J. Pocker & Son.
Dimensions:
Frame: 22 3/4" x 26 3/4" x 1"
Sight: 10 1/2" x 14 5/8"
Condition: silhouette of the printing from the book is visible in the background, 1" tear to center left and 1/4" tear to upper left.

Condition: Please see detail photos. There is a crease and spot to lower left corner of one of the lithographs with some light wear including some age related scratches to the frames which do not detract from the fine Native American presentation.
