About the Item

Rare Limited Edition of Marcel Duchamp’s ‘Trafico de Divisas’ Ready Made Own a piece of avant-garde art history with this rare limited edition replica of the ready-made ‘Trafico de Divisas’ by Marcel Duchamp. This extraordinary piece originates from the extremely rare art publication Negre + Rose, ‘Les horse Catalanes de Marcel Duchamp,’ published in 1979. Handsigned and numbered, this limited edition consists of only 250 copies. The artwork features two cardboard cheques (front and back) or promissory notes, pink on both sides, mounted on black cardboard as originally published. One of the cheques is signed by Duchamp in offset print, while the other is signed in offset by Peter Harnden and additionally bears the handwritten phrase and signature of Franco Bombelli. This artwork is a result of the ironic collaboration between Harnden, Bombelli, and Duchamp. Harnden and Bombelli were both prominent figures in the art and architecture world, with Harnden's influence stemming from collaborations with architects like Frank Lloyd Wright and Richard Neutra, and Bombelli’s legacy rooted in his architectural and artistic contributions in Cadaqués, a hub for 20th-century avant-garde artists. The piece is elegantly framed in a high-quality black lacquered wooden frame, highlighted by a distinctive pink background. The frame dimensions are D 3 cm x W 31.5 cm x H 41.5 cm. Ideal for collectors of fine art, admirers of Marcel Duchamp’s work, or anyone looking to introduce a unique and historically significant piece into their space, this framed ready-made is a striking focal point that embodies the innovative spirit of the Dada movement. Celebrate the enduring legacy of Marcel Duchamp with this exquisite framed ready-made—a remarkable addition to any art collection or decor, reflecting the iconic beauty and artistic vision of one of the 20th century's most influential artists.
