16th c Spanish Silk & Linen Embroidered Textile Fragment w/ Figures & Animals

About the Item

A fine example of a 16th century Spanish silk floss textile fragment from the Avila, Spain region, with embroidered angels, grotesques, and mythological animals. This textile is mounted on linen and framed under glass in a paint decorated molded giltwood frame. Very good overall condition, with minor imperfections, light fade, and wear commensurate with age and use. Not examined out of frame.
