About the Item

An antique needlepoint sampler by Mary Morgan dated 1874 with words: "When my father and my mother forsake me then the Lord will take me up". The top with a flowering urn flanked by two deer. The bottom with a central flowering plant flanked by two animals. The border with red flowers. Presented in a later silver gilt frame and surmounted on white paper, glazed. Dimensions: Frame - 13 1/2" x 15 3/4" x 1/2" D Condition: Please see detail photos. Various acceptable signs of age include discolorations to fabric, minor fraying to upper left corner with the Sampler retaining an admirable Folk Art presentation.
