About the Item
This tactile piece of hand-woven textile art is one of a collection of one-off plant-dyed pieces designed and produced by British Weaver Pamela Print.
This piece is dyed by hand using natural and repurposed yarns and techniques such as Ikat and dip-dyeing using the natural dyes weld & fustic for the shades of yellow and over-dyed with indigo to achieve the flecks of green.
Handwoven on a dobby loom in Pamela's studio using a complex double cloth weaving technique and a combination of weave structures, including a 3D honeycomb, this unique framed artwork draws inspiration from the ethos and aesthetic of Indian Kantha & Japanese Boro textiles.
One of a kind. Two similar designs - ‘Greens Colour Study’ and ‘Teals Colour Study’ are available to purchase. Each of these pieces can be purchased and displayed individually or as a triptych.
A bespoke option is available in colours / size of the client's choice and can be woven using hand-dyed plant dyes. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Pamela Print
Pamela Print is an award-winning weaver and textile artist with a studio practice based near London, producing handwoven, plant-dyed artworks and functional interior pieces.
Her work explores the ethos and design aesthetic of traditional textiles, such as Japanese Boro and Indian Kantha, and early 20th-century abstract art. Coming from a long career in the fashion textile industry and the centre of mass production, Pamela’s practice is now environmentally and ethically focused with a no-waste approach - each piece is produced by hand using natural materials, and for the latest collection, the introduction of plant dyes. Her tactile woven pieces combine double cloth and juxtaposed woven structures with dip-dyeing techniques, creating illusory ‘embroidered’ effects, with designs often woven spontaneously at the loom.
Each piece is handwoven to order in the studio and can be fully customised according to the client’s requirements. Pamela, a Central St Martins alumna, worked for fourteen years as a woven textile designer in London & Belgium before setting up her practice in 2017.
