This handwoven French Chinoisere tapestry is made in wools and silks, depicting a Chinese couple seated and eating around a table with a figure in the background holding a Chinese style umbrella, to the left is a stylized hut with a perching bird and a draped canopy surrounded by leafy trees, in the foreground are a pair of seated children who are eating surrounded by a basket of flowers and scattered flowers, the frame border of meandering floral vine intertwined with a stylized band.
