About the Item

Stunning Zuber panorama wallpaper Hindustan Woodcut Print Panels 1 to 4, France 1970s. The picture consists of four panels with the numbers 1 to 4 of the Hindustan panorama wallpaper, which consists of a total of 20 panels. The panorama wallpaper was purchased in 1978 and was probably also produced at that time. The wallpaper panels show slight signs of wear due to storage. Some of the panels are slightly torn at the edges in the unprinted area. On panel 1 there is an approx. 8 mm damage in the area of a person's foot. In the upper part, the panels have been shortened so that they have a height of 129.9" (3.30 m) instead of 153.5" (3.90 m). They were never glued. Since its first production in Rixheim, France, in 1807, the panoramic wallpaper L'Hindoustan has been printed by hand using the same techniques and 1,265 original antique woodcuts from the 19th century. These woodcuts are classified as historical monuments and part of French cultural heritage. Dimensions Total height: 129.9" / 330cm Maximum design height: 59.1" / 150cm Print width: 26.4" / 67cm Total width: 28.0" / 71cm The cut pieces (blue sky) are present and can be added on request.
