Brutalist Freeform Earthenware Wall Plate w Turquoise Glaze

About the Item

A Brutalist earthenware plate suitable as a wall hanging. A strong 70s vibe but, to my surprise, created in 2012. It will work well with Organic and Brutalist styling, or 1970s modern homes. I love the ocean-blue central glaze. It is deeply crackled, so refracts light. The contrast with the flat opaque white glaze around it brings out the rich textural materiality of the piece. An intriguing ceramic work, which I thought was much older - it certainly gives that impression. It will make a very nice addition to a gallery wall. I find it works best on the wall. It has a new Safe'n'Sure plate hanger supplied for this purpose. Not attached. Simply dampen the back of the hanger and apply to plate per instructions (included). You get to choose - hang it up or sit it on a horizontal surface. I prefer it hanging.
