Georg Jensen 1969 Astrid Fog Geometric Kinetic Bracelet In .925 Sterling Silver
Located in Miami, FL
Kinetic Discs bracelet designed by Astrid Fog for Georg Jensen. Fabulous geometric flexible bracelet, created in Copenhagen Denmark by the silversmiths designer Astrid Fog for the Georg Jensen company, back in the 1969. This vintage bracelet is the model 169 and has been crafted with ultra modernist patterns. Composed by twenty-two kinetic movable semi circulars links, made up in plain solid .925/.999 sterling silver with high polished finish. Fitted at the end with a flat hook as a security lock. Weight: 128.30 Grams, (82.24 Dwt). Size: 7.25 Inches (18.4 Cm). Measurements: The width is 24 mm (0.97 Inch). Hallmarks Stamped with the post 1945 maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the silver and signed, "GEORG JENSEN STERLING DENMARK 169". Astrid Fog (1911-1993) In 1969, Astrid Fog released her first jewelry collection for Georg Jensen, and is noted for her modernist sensibilities and combinations of simple geometric shapes, such as circles, squares, and rectangles. Her jewelry is distinctive in its large bold shapes, often utilizing lightweight, hollow silver forms. Although unconventional, her jewelry stands as a testament of the fashions of her time period. Fog is also associated with Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufacture and designs clothing as well as lamps. (From GEORG JENSEN HOLLOWWARE, THE SILVERFUND COLLECTION, David A. Taylor & Jason W. Laskey, 2003). Georg Jensen Georg Jensen is the most famous Danish silversmith and jewelry designer that ever lived. He is world-renowned for his refined and intricate mastery. The simple elegance of his works and the emphasis on fine craftsmanship, the hallmarks of Georg Jensen products, are recognized around the world. Many of Georg Jensen's jewelry pieces are true works of art, honored to this day. He was one of the greatest representatives of the artistic movement known as "Art Nouveau". Jensen made his first piece of jewelry in 1899, a silver and silver and gilt "Adam and Eve" belt buckle. In 1901, Jensen abandoned ceramics and began again as a silversmith and designer with the master, Mogens Ballin. This led Jensen to make a landmark decision, when in 1904, he risked what small capital he had and opened his own little silversmith at 36 Bredgade in Copenhagen. Jensen's training in metalsmithing along with his education in the fine arts allowed him to combine the two disciplines and revive the tradition of the artist craftsman. Soon, the beauty and quality of his Art Nouveau creations caught the eye of the public and his success was assured. The Copenhagen quarters were greatly expanded and before the end of the 1920s, Jensen had opened retail in Berlin (1909), London (1921), and New York City (1924). The New York retail store, Georg Jensen Inc. (New York, NY), was founded and operated independently as a family business by Frederik Lunning...

Vintage Van Cleef & Arpels Bracelet Gold Coral Gemstones French Estate Jewelry
Located in Beverly Hills, CA
An exquisite Van Cleef & Arpels bracelet made of 18k gold, coral, chrysoprase and accented with diamond. The bracelet consists of five elongated coral planks framed in 18 karat yellow gold decorated with diamonds. The coral’s salmon coloring is perfectly even, with no spots or cavities. There are five four-prong set oval cabochon cut chrysoprase staged between the planks. The contrast of the deep green gems and the coral is striking. The little diamonds set in the arrow patterns add a luxurious touch to the piece. This VCA vintage bracelet is a special jewel which reflects the wearer’s personality and taste. The vintage Van Cleef & Arpels bracelet comes in an original VCA box which makes it the perfect piece at a fraction of the retail price. This vintage French bracelet is made of 18k yellow gold, coral, chrysoprase and accented with round brilliant cut diamonds (G-H color, VS clarity, total weight approximately 0.60 carat). The vintage bracelet measures 6 ¾” x ¼” (17.3 x 0.8 cm) and weighs 25.1 grams. The coral bracelet is stamped with Van Cleef & Arpels maker's mark and workshop, hallmark for 18 karat gold, French hallmarks for 18 karat gold and serial number. Chic, colorful and wearable, this vintage 18k gold necklace bracelet set is a great addition to your jewelry collection. About Van Cleef & Arpels Brand: Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry has been worn by celebrities and royalty since the first boutique opening in 1906. Being founded by a daughter of a precious stone dealer and a son of a stone cutter, Estelle Arpels and Alfred Van Cleef, the brand was meant to be big in the jewelry world. Press used to call the power couple union “The Maison based on love”. Even before Art Deco was pronounced as a style, VCA brand was known for their skillfully made, bold geometric pieces. Later, during the century, the maker mastered this design approach to the top notch jewelry level. The experimental spirit, fearless usage of the exotic materials and truly unique gemstone combinations brought Van Cleef & Arpels to the top three Maisons of the jewelry world. In order to make this prestigious jewelry affordable not only for an affluent clientele, Nadine Krakov Collection offers a wide selection of estate Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry without the high markups. About Vintage French Jewelry: Vintage French jewelry is highly valued by jewelry experts and enthusiasts. Since the late Renaissance, France has been established itself as one of the world trendsetters in art and fashion. A quick look at the top 5 French jewelry designers — Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Hermes, Chaumet, Chanel — describes French level of greatness even better. What allowed France to reach such a high level in the jewelry world hierarchy? In a nutshell, it’s because of the apprenticeship system. In the beginning of 1950s in France anyone at the age 14 could start learning the craft. This way French jewelers, like no others in the world, gain a substantial portion of experience at the early age. Even non-designer jewels were produced by the high skilled masters. Most modern jewelry is not handcrafted anymore, and mass market-oriented production is prevailing. Jewelry designs are streamlined to use as less hand labor as possible. That’s why today vintage French jewelry is in such high demand. About Coral Jewelry: Once considered as a plant, coral acquired the nickname “garden of the sea”. In fact, coral is a branch formed by microscopic species called the coral polyp. It grows in the ocean and forms massive colonies. In different cultures wearing coral has different meanings. In Slavic countries coral beads were a part of the national costumes. The ancient Romans believed coral protected their kids from danger. Same in Italy, where in the beginning of 20th century coral jewelry was believed to be an anti-evil eye protection. Today coral is worn as a chic accessory with meaning and admired for its exceptional natural beauty. The silky coral texture and a variety of coral colors attract jewelry lovers all over the world. The value of vintage coral jewelry...

Vintage Link Bracelets

A fluid, dazzling finishing touch is here for the taking. Vintage link bracelets are among the most versatile accessories in your jewelry box, perfect for everyday wear or an evening outing with friends.

The oldest bracelet in the world was unearthed in 2015 in Russia and is around 40,000 years old. It is stone, made of chlorite, and quite fragile. The finding also included a tiara made of ivory from a woolly mammoth. Most likely a decorative piece used only for special occasions, the bracelet was a far cry from the bracelets and other jewelry we accessorize with today.

Owing to a metallic flash or the sparkle of a luxurious gemstone, a link bracelet introduces an eye-catching dynamic that can contrast wonderfully with the textures of fabric. A link bracelet can also magnify a pattern you’ve set into motion with other accessories, such as stacked with your go-to cuff bracelets or paired with a matching gold chain necklace (there are many kinds to choose from), earrings or a vintage shoulder bag with a similar metallic clasp. Often, a link bracelet is an understated yet elegant means of enhancing any outfit, subtle and tasteful.

Such bracelets are perennial partly because of the wide range of styles available. They boast a simple construction — typically chain links and a closure system — that makes them ideal for pairing with nearly any ensemble. Link bracelets can also see an integration of other types of elements such as lockets and medallions linked together in an overlapping or interlocking way, such as in the charm bracelet, which has been popular for centuries.

The two main things to consider when choosing a vintage link bracelet are the material and the design. Some bracelets feature charms, diamonds, gemstones or other ornamental flourishes. Pearls and cameos are exciting options to explore for a classic look. Link bracelets set with gemstones such as sapphires can offer a beautiful focal point in a jewel-toned ensemble. Similarly, antique diamond link bracelets can introduce a layer of sophistication as a captivating accessory that exquisitely reflects light on its chain links during a formal dinner or a night out on the town.

Choosing between gold link bracelets and silver link bracelets is another important consideration. In most cases, gold jewelry will look best on warm skin tones while white metals like silver and platinum are best for cool skin tones. There are also some link bracelets that mix metals for a more modern and playful look.
