Beautiful and large example of unique Victorian hair art In a mourning brooch. The pin features dark blond/light brown hair in a basketweave design behind a glass protective plate. The back side of the brooch features a smaller window showcasing an elaborate knotted hair design. These pin were typically used to secure scarves, shawls, veils, or other garments during periods of mourning in the Victorian era. This heirloom quality piece would look lovely on a jacket lapel or adorning a scarf.
