Beautiful and large example of unique Victorian hair art In a mourning brooch. The pin features dark blond/light brown hair in a basketweave design behind a glass protective plate. The back side of the brooch features a smaller window showcasing an elaborate knotted hair design. These pin were typically used to secure scarves, shawls, veils, or other garments during periods of mourning in the Victorian era.
