Faberge Diamond Enamel Flower Brooch Antique 1900 August Hollming Workmaster

This is an exquisite and rare antique FABERGÉ Rose Cut Diamond, Enamel and Red Cabochon Brooch modeled as a sprig of flowers with a translucent green enameled flower centered with a red cabochon and the tendrils terminated in tulip form flowerheads set with rose cut diamonds and red cabochons. The brooch is hallmarked St. Petersburg 1896-1908, 56 gold standard and workmaster's initial AH for August Hollming. The spectacular jeweled and enameled flower motif brooch is a masterwork by one of Faberge's most important workmasters, August Hollming. August Frederik Hollming was renowned for creating Faberge's extraordinary enamel brooches adorned with gemstones. The flower inspired jewels created by the Faberge jewelers are of course legendary and this is one of the most beautiful we have seen. The exquisite design with the large green enamel flower and delicate tendrils and flowers set with Rose Cut Diamonds and Red Cabochon gems is absolutely stunning. The red cabochons are Garnet or Tourmaline gems. The brooch dates to the high point of Faberge's artistry, 1896-1908. The jewel is a magical Faberge creation and a treasure to be loved for generations. The brooch is 1 7/8 inches (47mm) long and is 1 1/4 inches (3cm) wide. Marks: Impressed workmaster mark of "A H" for August Hollming, and Russian St. Petersburg hallmarks, including 56 for 14 Karat Gold. The brooch weighs 10.1 grams. August Frederik Hollming was a prominent Fabergé work-master. Born in Finland, in 1876 August Frederik Hollming moved to Saint Petersburg and after a short while the joined the House of Fabergé as a workmaster. He produced spectacular enameled jewelry as well as miniature Easter Eggs. The unique modern style and techniques used by August Frederik Hollming were far ahead of his time and imbue his works with timeless appeal. Hollming is one of the most talented and gifted artisans to have ever worked for the House of Fabergé and his works are collected throughout the world today. His extraordinary technique, marvelous enamels and unique innovative approach are considered some of the best examples of the art of jewelry making in Imperial Russia.
