18th Century Cambodia Hamsa Bird Coin Diamonds 18K Gold Earrings
About the Item
Two small silver "1/8 Tikal" coins handstruck in Cambodia during the reign of King Narodom I (1835-1904, before Cambodia became a French protectorate), depict the mythical Hamsa bird. Hamsa is a Sanskrit term meaning "white swan." In the Hindu tradition, this graceful aquatic bird represents divine Spirit. In the practice of yoga, hamsa represents the "life force," or prana, that is summoned by the breath. It is only through awareness of this breath that the kundalini can be awakened and sent soaring through the body like a bird in flight. These authentic coins are set in handmade 18K gold surround by "jawan" granulation beneath safety clasp wires with 1.8mm VS1 diamonds at the join. These earrings are sent with lifetime laminated coin certificates of authenticity. Rare and Unique!

He incorporates primarily cabochon gemstones as well as ancient Greek and Roman coins, each piece capturing the feelings of a bygone age.
