This is a sumptuous Vintage Arnold Scaasi Multi Strand Festoon Runway Necklace with large dramatic faux Black Onyx drops set in a Russian Gilt Metal mesh necklace. The fabulous mesh necklace drapes beautifully around the neck creating a dashing festoon design. The necklace has a wonderful clasp set with faux black onyx marquise shaped stones. The contrast of the gilt metal with the dramatic faux black onyx drops is gorgeous. The necklace is a mesmerizing piece of wearable art from the 1950-1960s.
Arnold Scaasi designed jewelry from 1958-1963. He produced incredible pieces of costume jewelry which were hugely popular during the 1950s and 60s. His statement collars, necklaces and exquisitely embellished clasps were in hot demand. The best pieces of Scaasi Jewelry are now scarce and coveted.
Vintage Condition: Very good without damage or noteworthy wear.

The shortest strand of the necklace is 15 inches long.
The black onyx center is 3 1/4 inches long.
The necklace is signed SCAASI in a cartouche on the back of the Onyx.
