Ancient Persian 4th Century BC Cilicia Coin 22K Gold Pendant
About the Item
A beautifully detailed image of "Baaltars" sitting on a throne is surrounded by hand applied 22K wire work which complements and continues the border of this rare and authentic silver "stater" from 378-362 BC. A true masterpiece of the ancient engravers art! This coin comes from the ancient city of Tarsus in Cilicia during the Persian Empire, predating Alexander the Great, who later conquered the region. Tarsus is now near the city of Mersin in southern Turkey. The god Baaltars (a combination of "Baal" and "Tarsus") was a major deity of the Persian empire and was the equivalent of the Greek god Zeus. This pendant comes with a laminated coin certificate of authenticity. The handmade chain shown is not included but can be ordered additionally. We discount our chains 20% when ordered with pendant .

He incorporates primarily cabochon gemstones as well as ancient Greek and Roman coins, each piece capturing the feelings of a bygone age.
