About the Item
This remarkable silver comb has been made in high grade silver to allow for the fine repoussé workmanship. Made up of at least 114 handmade parts, the construction shows a very radical approach achieving the naturalism of flowers using silver in an incredibly delicate way. The extremely fine craftsmanship of this piece is not only very rare but would also have been prohibitively expensive to produce. The comb has very strong echoes of the Biedermeier style that was the inspiration of the Vienna Secession & the Wiener Werkstätte
