About the Item

Great Nobility Intaglio Signet Ring for Men with remarkable Coats of Arms hand - engraved into the deep of hard Red banded Onyx Stone. This is a Coat of Arms of Swedish noble family of Heijkenskjöld. Very well done intaglio carving work with a lot of delicate and extremely miniature details that makes fine impression on any soft and pliable matter. Swedish hallmarks,18K, maker's hallmarks, year combo is R8 = made in 1943. Red Onyx stone with convex cut and concave cut ornament, polished to gloss face side / measures 20 mm x 18 mm x 6 mm deep / ca. 20 ct. This stone is rather hard and wear - resistant with Moh's 7 and that makes it a great medium for the art of intaglio and relief carving. Used condition. Stone in fine shape with very minor scratches visible under x 10 magnification only. Makes finest impression. Size : Ø 8 US / 18.19 mm. Sizing is possible for additional payment. Weight: 14.2 grams. P.s : The family of Heijkenskjöld originates from Germany. The oldest known ancestor is the coppersmith and millmaster at the mint in Avesta, Detlof Heijke (mentioned 1643 and died 1682), who moved from Germany first to Säter and then in 1644 to Avesta. His grandson, the mountain councilor in the Bergskollegium Detlof Heijke (1707–1775), was knighted in 1761 10/3 at Stockholm Castle by King Adolf Fredrik with the name Heijkenskiöld > Most of the items that we sell are not new at all if not stated otherwise.
