Black Starr & Frost Antique Fine Silver Overlay Crystal Decanter

About the Item

Magnificent antique cut crystal decanter with .999 fine silver overlay for Black Starr & Frost. This early century art nouveau style piece will be a significant addition to a formal barware display or as an impressive gift for a wedding, anniversary, housewarming or other special occasion. Fashioned by Alvin Silver in the early 1900s and made for Black Star & Frost after 1919 but before 1928 when they were acquired by Gorham. The intricate leaf and grape design on the overlay is carried from the bottom to the solid neck of the decanter. Complementing, the stopper has a whimsical pineapple and leaf design also in fine silver. Monogrammed on a small silver plaque on the front of the decanter is the Hebrew letter "Bet" which translates to "House". Style number 11376, the decanter measures 9.5 inches tall and 12.25 inches tall when including the stopper. The diameter of the widest area of the base is approximately 6 inches and the circumference 18 inches. The decanter and stopper are hand polished to maintain the integrity of the stunning silver overlay. Signed and hallmarked by its maker. Gift wrapped.
