ET Projects, a 501(c)3, was created in 2018 with the vision to bring communities together through the magic of art and nature. Shoreline Project was the first large scale immersive art experience launched in partnership with the Laguna Art Museum, in Laguna Beach, CA. The second venue was to be Vientienne, Laos, along the edge of the Mekong. Postponed by Covid-19, ET Projects reinvented and in 2020 and launched Project: “Look Up” in partnership with Mt. San Antonio Gardens. The images are of bold, resilient plants, each with a unique story of nature overcoming adversity.

Anthony Velonis (1911-1997) was an extremely innovative artist. He learned the technique of screen printing, also known as silkscreen, (for which he also coined the term serigraphy) while working with a wall paper manufacturer.
Unusual for fine prints, the image is made by the artist in the same direction as it will print, as the colored inks are forced through fabric (silk) directly onto a paper surface. (He also invented a machine that could print onto column-shaped items such as cocktail glasses or make-up bottles and a rack system for drying sheets of paper with wet ink in which the sheets are just inches apart.)
The technique allows extreme versatility on the part of the artist and the ink tends to sit on top of the paper rather than soak into the fibers. In 1934 Velonis used this new technique on Mayor LaGuardia's NYC Poster...

“Working in layers, Milton begins with drawings based on people and places, with nods to Western art history and culture. Instead, a broader cultural past is tapped through historical photographs of key players, architecture, and locales, which he reinvents by hand. He adds content drawn from his life as an avid reader – always with multiple possible interpretations – thus incorporating deeper meaning in his cinematic worlds. Elements of Greek mythology, classical music, art history, and history coalesce in his images, which embrace the messiness, sorrow, and elation that is life. ABOUT THIS PIECE: In her process-based studio practice, Anderson draws inspiration from the language of her materials, dripping and pouring on her surfaces before drawing and painting shapes overtop. She uses a variety of methods and materials to create her work, including ink, acrylic, cutting and pasting, airbrushing, digital methods, drawing, and projection. Sometimes her layers obscure her process, but often they’re evident through and between forms. Her work often evokes figures, landscapes and narrative through her explorations of form and colour. Together, these create an inventory of her visual vocabulary and memory.
