Trina Turk Palm Springs

Retail by Bestor Architecture in Palm Springs, CA

The original space was two storefronts in a commercial building designed by Albert Frey. Bestor Architecture was tasked to add two shops- a resort wear one and the men’s and residential furnishings one and to connect all these stores internally. We took a cue from Frey and embraced the earthy sunny desert ambience and create a light filled space with beautiful fixtures and multiple textures. We made a new connecting corridor lined with a folded wall that was brass coated and contains internally lit display boxes. Within the store we made rooms-within rooms delineating the various salesrooms- with wooden walls, wire cubist display racks, a tiled floor that is a pixellated abstraction of one of Trina’s desert fabric patterns, a brass hanging ladder wall for the display of fabrics, towels and bedding, a sales counter that has a bright sunny Trina Turk pattern as a vinyl wrapper and a few platforms for window displays.
