A finely detailed watercolour study of a dead robin in a snowy landscape. An exhibition label to the reverse reveals that this painting - as well as another by the same artist of a sparrow, also listed on our website (sr715) - was exhibited at the London International Exhibition of 1872. Both paintings can be found in the catalogue for the exhibition. Well presented in a gilt-effect frame. Unsigned. On paper.
