Shawn Theodore (b. 1970) was born in Germany to American parents from Philadelphia, and currently lives and works in Philadelphia. Theodore was awarded the prestigious PDN’s 30 New & Emerging Photographers to Watch (2019), the Getty Images / ARRAY ‘Where We Stand’ grant, and a grant from the Knight Foundation for ‘A Dream Deferred’. Theodore was a two-time nominee for the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage Fellowship and a nominee for the Magnum Foundation Fund. He is an Associate Adjunct Professor at the University of the Arts, a trustee of The Print Center, a trustee of the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, and a former trustee of the Philadelphia Photo Arts Center.
Theodore was announced as a two-time nominee of The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage Fellowship and a nominee of the Magnum Foundation Fund in 2018. In the following years 2019 and 2020, he was awarded the PDN's 30 New & Emerging Photographers to Watch and AI-AP American Photography 35. He has had several solo exhibitions and is included in several group exhibitions. Nayla Saroufim was born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1982. She graduated from the Académie Lebanese des Beaux-Arts with a degree in Illustration and Art Direction. While working in the publicity field at several multinational advertising agencies, Saroufim began rekindling her interest in art. Creative, a dreamer, and a lover of color and beauty, Saroufim has been engaging in a creative expression of her personality through art for over a decade. She hopes that by looking at her art, people will realize that there is beauty and happiness in the simplest things.
Nayla Saroufim’s work has graced the walls of solo exhibitions including a show in London in December 2015 and one in Beirut in October 2013. Her work has been exhibited at the Beirut Art Fair, in Singapore, and at Asia Contemporary Art. Artspace Warehouse Los Angeles has exhibited her sculptural artworks since 2020.

Halicarnassus was an ancient Greek city in Caria, in Anatolia. It was located in southwest Caria, on an advantageous site on the Gulf of Gökova, which is now in Bodrum, Turkey. The city was famous for the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, ranked as one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Halicarnassus was loyal to the Persians and formed part of the Persian Empire until Alexander the Great captured it at the siege of Halicarnassus in 333 BC. Here, the Kupjack Studios have meticulously researched the era and have gone to painstaking detail to present this miniature version of Alexander's Tent. Based on a scale of one foot equals one inch, each piece of furniture, rug, decoration is fabricated with exacting detail.

Late Colonial Sitting Room, Boston MA, 1760 - Miniature Room by Kupjack Studios

A new middle class began to emerge in Colonial America and a migration into urban areas began. Unlike farmhouses, these new homes were elegant two-store homes designed in the new Georgian style, imitating the lifestyle of the upper middle class of England. The interiors consisted of a passageway down the middle of the house with specialized rooms off the sides, such as a library, dining room, sitting room or a primary bedroom. Unlike the multi-purpose space of the farmhouse, each of these rooms served a separate purpose. This new middle class had leisure time to entertain guests. In this sitting room, the Kupjacks have replicated this stately room with upholstered furniture, a working fireplace, decorative ceramics and silver accent pieces. This miniature room is presented in a custom leather bound case with faux books on either end as if it could be placed in a bookshelf. the room can also be installed in a wall.

Mixed media is distinct from multimedia, which describes art involving electronic media, including video, computers and digital elements. Rauschenberg, like many mixed media artists, used found objects in his work, from cast-off furniture to newspapers.
Collage is one of the most well-known areas of mixed media. Artists use various types of paper, fabric, photographs and more to create one cohesive work. A type of collage is assemblage, which involves 3D objects.
While artists may use fabric in collage, it can be the very substance of the art itself. Fabric art makes extensive use of texture. Artists may paint or embroider on fabric to create layers of texture and color to evoke a specific feeling. They can also transfer photos onto fabric for innovative ways to display visuals.
Resin-based art has clean, sharp lines and a definitive shape. Resin is a liquid that hardens to a high-gloss surface and is used to seal wood, counters and floors. Resin can also seal artwork, and many artists tint it using pigment powder, ink, spray paint and other vivid materials. If water is added, the resin will turn milky instead of being completely transparent. It’s common for artists working in mixed media to use resin on nontraditional surfaces like glass, wood, metal and stone. This creates a shine that’s perfect to brighten a dull space in the home or office.
