Hand-signed by the artist in verso.
A modern minimal abstract painting by artist KR Moehr, this composition is dominantly white, but features modulations of gray, blue, and beige. The work is further broken up with a pop of deep blue which cuts through the work in a vertical line, and a ghost image of a horizontal line. Thick white impasto accents this bold area of color giving the work further dimension and complexity, despite its simple nature.
Artist Commentary:
Distraction is a modern abstract created with acrylics and mediums on gallery-wrapped (1.5" sides) canvas. Ready to hang. Finished sides in white. Deep blues, grey, black and tonal whites with some light surface texture. 24" x 30" Signed on the back, COA included.
About the Artist:
KR Moehr, Tucson, AZ Artist. Originally from Michigan, I spent many happy hours roaming through the Detroit Institute of Art (DIA) and marveling at masterpieces and developing a true love for art. I eventually earned a B.A. in Communications and worked in marketing/communications for automotive suppliers in suburban Detroit. Eventually, I moved west to rainy/quirky Portland, OR and lived there for several years during which I first picked up a paintbrush to record a particularly lovely watercolor sunset. It was awful; I was hooked. My life journey took me to my current home in sunny Arizona where I love to try to capture some of the natural desert beauty and amazing sky shows we get. After working to learn and hone my artistic skills, I now paint mostly in the abstract expressionist style and enjoy working with textured art. My media of choice is acrylics or water-based oils.

I like to transport my mind to a calming place, inspired by memories, and complex organic elements found in nature. Playing with colors and movement, creating new compositions -- my best work comes when there is freedom to create without any strict plan. With intuition and spontaneity taking over, the result is often a surprise. To me, everything flows, and there is always a sense of balance and harmony that can emerge out of disorder.
