"Visions of the Metropolis #6" - 1996 Original Oil on Canvas
Original oil painting from Bay Area artist Travis Flack (American, 20th Century) from the series "Visions of the Metropolis." Hues of yellows, blues, reds and purples make up this surrealist, visionary cityscape. A jumbled cityscape made of shapes and dimension is the focal point. There are circular shapes throughout the cityscape, some of which appear to be hollow or have holes in the center.
Unframed.

Travis Flack was born in Santa Rosa, California and is known for his vibrant, surrealist paintings. Originally starting out in the graffiti and Skateboard art movement at a young age, Flack won second prize in an open competition which led to painting a mural at local a skate park. Thereafter, Flack started exhibiting his surrealist oil paintings in local exhibitions around Sonoma County. His series "Visions of the Metropolis" was displayed at Montmartre in 1997.

Santa Cruz artist David Fleming graduated from San Jose State University with a B.S. in industrial design, and soon went to work for Ford in Detroit as a car stylist. After two years he returned to California to work for Lockheed as an off-road vehicle designer. Fleming spent a year in Stuttgart, Germany, working for Porsche, designing cars, and helicopters, and later returned to California to pursue full time painting.
