Kindness offered in the colorful chaos and vivid imagination of one seashore vision.
Inspired by one of my favorite spots in San Diego, this rendition of Mission Bay expresses the magic, mystery and even joyful chaos of the beach scene at night.
Stars are bright in the sky but this ONE star in the night sky is brilliant. It beckons you to imagine and enjoy the playful interpretations of a disorganized and yet joyous night scene at the beach.
The fish that seems to be split in two on the two side of the piece, happy and joyous in the water. The boat that is transparent and seems to be empty of a captain while heading for the shoreline. The shoreline that is speckled with tumultuous buildings. The birds that are bright in the night sky.
And the buildings that are more awkward and yet solid in their desire to move with the waves of the water, from side to side, forward and back.

Arlette Stella
Arlette Stella is an abstract painter with occasional work that expresses surrealism. She is self-taught, late-blooming and unstoppable. Her work is characterized by bold colors, since she is mainly color-blind and needs bold colors to see the work. Arlette’s philosophical nature is the basis for her work. Every work is the result of a conversation she has had with canvas, paints and colors.
Each work aims to incur, inspire, and maybe even nudge (kick you in the yeah-butt!) the viewer to experience and act on kindness. Arlette states clearly: Kindness is my brand!
Arlette Stella is an artist member of the San Diego Artist Guild of the San Diego Museum and of the Artist Guild of Palm Springs/Palm Desert, among other artist groups.

This painting was inspired by the many themes within my art. Duality is seen in the changing textures and colors, creating a strong sense of depth, concave to convex as well as dark to light. Emergence, another theme, occurs with each layer of paint. New forms start to emerge as if by magic, creating a sense of excitement and mystery.
