Night Burger; Genre painting of a fast food worker looking out to a quiet beach
Located in Pasadena, CA
Artist Statement: "Over a decade ago, before this Fatburger location in Sherman Oaks was renovated, I was admiring the evening neon light bouncing off of these chrome stools. I had even started to paint the entire parking lot full of cars across the street, but decided that the mood of the piece would be enhanced if I changed it to a seaside location, making this piece more of a fiction. Story often draws me into a painting, and I felt the exaggerated aloneness was more connected to the feelings of inspiration I found in this place." -- Tony Peters Artwork Description: Night Burger by Tony Peters is a breathtaking oil on canvas painting that captures a considered and tranquil atmosphere with striking detail. This oil on canvas piece depicts a solitary fast food worker, standing alone inside an illuminated burger stand and gazing out into the night sky towards a distant beach with crashing waves. The painting's warm and vibrant colors bring to life the peaceful and serene mood of the scene. The figure in the painting wears an orange uniform and grey cap, with no customers present, creating a sense of solitude and introspection. The neon lights that illuminate the burger stand enhance the painting's warm and calming ambiance, reflecting the worker's silent reflection. The harmony between the worker's outfit and the neon lights creates a subtle yet cohesive effect, adding to the painting's overall beauty. Night Burger by Tony Peters inspires rumination and contemplation. Its minimalist presentation adds a contemporary touch to the piece, making it a perfect addition to any modern or traditional setting. This painting captures the beauty of the mundane and celebrates the peace that can be found in solitude. Framed: 37.625" x 37.625" x 2"; Unframed: 36" x 36" Provenance Acquired by the gallery directly from the artist Exhibited California Art Club...

1927 Oil Painting Eiffel Tower Paris American Modernist Wpa Artist Morris Kantor
Located in Surfside, FL
Morris Kantor New York (1896 - 1974) Paris from the Ile St. Louis, 1927 (view of Eiffel Tower) Oil painting on canvas Hand Signed lower left. Provenance: Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Smithsonian Institution ( bears label verso) Size: 20 3/4"H x 28 1/8"W (sight), 28.75 "H x 36"W (framed) Morris Kantor (Belarusian: Морыс Кантор) (1896-1974) was a Russian Empire-born American painter based in the New York City area. Born in Minsk on April 15, 1896, Kantor was brought to the United States in 1906 at age 10, in order to join his father who had previously relocated to the states. He made his home in West Nyack, New York for much of his life, and died there in 1974. He produced a prolific and diverse body of work, much of it in the form of paintings, which is distinguished by its stylistic variety over his long career. Perhaps his most widely recognized work is the iconic painting "Baseball At Night", which depicts an early night baseball game played under artificial electric light. Although he is best known for his paintings executed in a realistic manner, over the course of his life he also spent time working in styles such as Cubism and Futurism, and produced a number of abstract or non-figural works. A famous cubist, Futurist, painting of his "Orchestra" brought over 500,000$ at Christie's auction house in 2018 Kantor found employment in the Garment District upon his arrival in New York City, and was not able to begin formal art studies until 1916, when he began courses at the now-defunct Independent School of Art. He studied landscape painting with Homer Boss (1882-1956). In 1928, after returning to New York City from a year in Paris, Kantor developed a style in which he combined Realism with Fantasy, often taking the streets of New York as his subject matter. He did some moody Surrealist Nude paintings and fantasy scenes. In the 1940's he turned towards figural studies. Later in his career, Kantor himself was an instructor at the Cooper Union and also at the Art Students League of New York in the 1940s, and taught many pupils who later became famous artists in their own right, such as Knox Martin, Robert Rauschenberg, Sigmund Abeles and Susan Weil...

Winter Stream
Located in Milford, NH
A fine impressionist landscape of a winter stream by American artist Jonas Lie (1880-1940). Lie was born in Moss, Norway to an accomplished Norwegian engineer and an American mother. Named after his uncle, a novelist and close friend of Henrik Ibsen, Jonas went to Paris to live with his uncle in 1892, after his father's death. Surely it was here, the twelve year-old boy was influenced by the creative spirit found in his uncle's home. In 1893, Jonas moved to New York City, where he took evening classes at Cooper Union, the National Academy of Design and the Art Students League while working designing fabric patterns for a textile company to raise money to support his education. After the completion of his education, Lie spent most of his summers along the New England coast and Canada. Here he would paint bright, impressionistic harbor scenes and rocky, coastal views, which he would exhibit regularly. The landscapes and coastal paintings Lie created in New England can be characterized by a facile, broad handling of pigment and an impressionistic sense of light and air. was a prolific painter, known for his coastal views of New England and New York scenes. He became the president of the National Academy of Design from 1935 to 1939, a year before his death. Lie was also known for a series of paintings of the last days of construction of the Panama Canal in 1913. These paintings were given to the United States Military Academy...

Windmill and Shepherd Boy Landscape Collaboration Two Famous Norwegian Artists
Located in Stockholm, SE
Сollaboration work by two Norwegian artists: Morten Müller (1828 - 1911) and Olaf Christopher Dahl (1842 - 1895). Painted approximately in late 19th century (ca. 1870 - 1880). The collaboration of two renowned Norwegian artists in this landscape is an example of the fusion of their talent and skill. A very interesting compositional solution, where among the hills buried in vegetation, a lowland with a small pond is depicted, where a young shepherd has brought his cow to the watering hole. In the distance, on the hill, a windmill is visible, creating an emphasis on the perspective and depth of the composition. The nuanced interplay of light and shadow adds of complexity to the scene. The calmness of the pastoral setting below contrasts markedly with presence of gloomy clouds looming above. This juxtaposition creates a harmonious balance, presenting a duality inherent in nature. And this rare and awesome work of art should be considered for museum collection as well. Both painters presented in National Museum Oslo, Norway. Size app.: 46 x 69 cm (roughly 18.1 x 27.2 in), with frame 60 x 84 cm cm (roughly 23.6 x 33.1 in). Good condition with wear, tiny losses to paint in minor areas and craquelure. So it needs minor care and conservation. Please study good resolution images for overall cosmetic condition. In person actual painting may appear darker or brighter than in our pictures, strictly depending on sufficient light in your environment. Weight of app. 4.4 kg is going to measure some 6 kg volume weight packed for shipment. Morten Müller began his art studies with Adolph Tidemand and Hans Gude in Düsseldorf, Germany, from 1847 to 1848. From 1850 he was again a student at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, with Johann Wilhelm Schirmer as a teacher. From 1850 to 1851, Müller painted with the Swedish landscape painter Marcus...
