About the Item

This painting is the first in Edmund Lewandowski’s Amish Farmscape series, believed to have been created for his solo exhibition at the Sid Deutsch Gallery in New York City. He began the series after a visit to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, shortly after retiring from nearly thirty years of teaching art. The project marked a new phase in Lewandowski’s career, reflecting a continued interest in rural and industrial themes rendered with precisionist clarity and technical skill. His work is featured in prestigious national museums such as the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Milwaukee Art Museum.
