About the Item

Beyond the Horizon is part of the “Path to Eminence” series by Meghan Wilbar. During the pandemic, the uncertainty and isolation led Wilbar on a new series of work depicting the roads that lead into an unknown future. Concentrating on a stretch of Highway 96 in southern Colorado, she returned to walk, draw and absorb the change of form and color at the point where day becomes night. Just as the clouds form and dissipate, Wilbar's work reflects both the strength and fragility of our fleeting moments of time. Meghan Wilbar has always been drawn to the landscape as a subject matter. She works with a pared down sensibility to capture the experience of the land and sky through torn paper and drawn line. She received her MFA from the New York Studio School in 2005 and her BA from Knox College in 2002. In the fall of 2010, she was an artist in the Bronx Museum, Artist in the Marketplace program and was featured in their AIM30 museum exhibition.

Where I Dream, Abstract Painting
By Jenn Williamson
Located in San Francisco, CA

Artist Comments
Artist Jenn Williamson is an intuitive painter. In her work, she responds to her feelings and the way she is growing or changing to become a better human being. She loves to nurture and inspire others in their journey. And creativity has been at the core of how she processes situations and experiences. "I painted this during a season where I was focused on nurturing my spiritual and emotional sides," says Jenn. "Rather than being driven to succeed and produce results to feel valued, I find great strength in meditation."

About the Artist
Jenn Williamson expertly evokes the scenery of British Columbia in her soft abstract landscapes. She utilizes defining horizontal and vertical strokes, coupled with a skillful handling of color, to create significant depth in each piece. Her paintings, though abstracted, clearly convey the atmospheric attributes of the scene–rain, wind, clouds, fog. Jenn’s muted color palette transports the viewer to the Canadian west coast...
