About the Item

Beautiful seascape of the rocky California coast by Carmel plein air painter Muriel Emily Goodfield (American, 20th century). Presented in a wooden frame. Signed "MEO" lower right and signed "Muriel Goodfield" on verso. Image: 12"H x 16"W. Goodfield went to San Rafael High School, from San Francisco, California. Muriel is a long time Carmel, Petaluma, plein air artist. Member Central Coast Art Association. She has participated in group exhibitions at the River Front Gallery in Petaluma and the Sonoma County Fair. Muriel Goodfield, widely known Monterey/Carmel artist, brings an exhibit of her recent paintings for exhibit at the Carmel Foundation, Lincoln St., Carmel. Carmel Foundation art exhibit, 2016: Muriel has an active history in the arts all her life, beginning drawing as a young child, then branching into water color, then oils in college. In the last few years she has been creating paintings with pastels, because of the control of the medium and her love for it. Muriel is moved to often paint en plein air.
