About the Item
Here for your consideration is a fine example of the painterly style of the well known Napa, California artist Paul Youngman. Signed by the artist lower right. Circa 1990. Condition is excellent. The scene is Bodega Bay in Northern California.
Bodega Bay is a shallow, rocky inlet of the Pacific Ocean on the coast of northern California in the United States. It is approximately 5 mi (8 km) across and is located approximately 40 mi (60 km) northwest of San Francisco and 20 mi (32 km) west of Santa Rosa. The bay straddles the boundary between Sonoma County to the north and Marin County to the south.
The painting is housed in a custom gold leaf gallery frame with an off white linen liner. Overall framed measurements are 24 by 20 inches. Provenance: Lee Youngman Gallery, Calistoga, California label verso.
Born in 1941 and raised in Wisconsin, Paul Youngman has rapidly become one of the Napa Valley's finest and most popular painters of the California Wine Country. Relocating to the Napa Valley in 1994, Youngman found it to be the ideal place to paint.
As a painter focusing on the wealth of subject matter in California and the West, Paul Youngman's paintings are real, rich in color and depth without being overdone, and his subjects have wide appeal.
Youngman majored in Fine Art and Graphic Art at the University of California in Los Angeles, and became an architectural and free-lance illustrator. After twenty years in the commercial art field, he chose to expand upon his natural ability as a painter.
Through numberous one-man shows and juried exhibits, Youngman's paintings have won wide recognition amont serious corporate and private collectors. These include such notables as Leon Panetta, Mohammed Ali, Dole Pineapple Corporation, Hollister, Inc., the late composer Elmer Bernstein and Actor Elinor Donahue.
Bringing a new dimension to landscape painting, the oils of Paul Youngman create an exciting experience for the viewer. His paintings have the essence of the early California Plein Air artist's view of color and changing light, but with a contemporary sophistication.
Paul Youngman is a member of the California Art Club and Signature Member of the Oil Painters of America. He has been featured in Art of the West, Southwest Art magazines, as well as Art Talk, and the coffee table book, Art of the American West.

Pond, farmland, dunes and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. Signed lower right. Condition is very good. Overall framed in custom brown/black floating frame 61.5 by 74 inches.
Born in downtown Manhattan in 1934 Robert Dash was home schooled for most of his young life due to ongoing illnesses. Since then, he has painted, written and gardened near Sagg Pond on eastern Long Island, at residence among the changeable celebration of plantings, paths, views and architectural expressions of Madoo, a much-admired garden conservatory of his own making. A longtime Hamptons...
