About the Item

PETER WISHART ARSA (1846-1932) Innovative painter of landscapes and seascapes in oil and watercolour in a broad expressionist style influenced by McTaggart. He lived in Edinburgh, from where he exhibited widely, including at the Royal Scottish Academy, which elected him an associate member. His work is represented in several public collections, including those of the Royal Scottish Academy and Kirkcaldy Art Gallery.
