About the Item
This oil on canvas landscape painting depicts a grassy river scene with mountains in the distance. The brushstrokes are very representative of the impressionist movement, but the color palette allows a great detail in the lighting, the ripples in the water, and the dimension of the grass. The contrast between the bright foreground and the hazy darker background truly draws attention to the movement of the scene. This scene is likely from California and from an American School in that state. It's either from the late 20th century or the early 21st century based on it being in excellent condition and having a newer looking canvas, as seen in the pictures of the back of the painting. This work is truly amazing and comes with the gold frame!
