This is his reinterpretation of painting "Young Shepherdess" by gratest old master William Adolphe Bouguereau.
The Young Shepherdess is an 1885 oil painting by William-Adolphe Bouguereau. It is kept at the San Diego Museum of Art in San Diego in California.
This, together with other similar images depicted by the French painter over time has attracted both European and North American collectors, due to their content of strong nostalgic sentiment.
In his works dedicated to shepherdesses and young peasant women, the artist has come to represent a variety of poses and expressions; in this case it shows the girl's mild curiosity towards the observer.
