Her paintings show a fascination with the movement and texture of water, which is depicted in vivid colors in her works. Her hybrid painting style combines realism with impressionism in a very interesting way, providing a different view of the world and our memories of it. Summer Swim
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Elise Remender captures the romantic glamour of a bygone era in her contemporary figurative paintings that blend classical fine art and contemporary pop realism. Fantasy, mid-century fashion, and the glamour of travel and coastal living inform soft brush strokes and abstracted beauty; reminiscent of vintage advertisements and dusted sunlight. This original 37-inch square acrylic on canvas painting evokes a sense of delight and playfully nods at summery vintage aesthetics. It is signed by Remender on the front bottom right corner of the artwork. The sides are painted as a continuation of the front and it does not require framing. Free delivery within the local Los Angeles area. Affordable Continental U.S. and international shipping available. This artwork includes a certificate of authenticity issued by the gallery. Remender grew up in Arizona and is based in Southern California, but she has traveled all over the world gaining inspiration for her work. Her most recent series, Bathing Beauties, which captures the human form and abstracts it through light and reflection, was inspired by the vintage elegance and history of Southeast Asia’s historic hotel pools and gardens. It evokes a bygone era when Ernest Hemingway and Jackie O. were among the clientele. “I’m a bit of an old soul and there is a sense of elegance and beauty that has been lost in modern-day society, and I seek to recapture this essence in my work. I’m creating a sort of fantasy world of luxury, leisure, and old Hollywood glamour.” Her work has appeared in galleries in the US and Asia and in GQ Magazine, Architectural Digest, Dwell, California Home, People, among many other publications. Her paintings hang in luxury properties including The Ritz Carlton San Francisco, The Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas, and Hilton properties across the United States, as well as in the homes of celebrity collectors including Ryan Seacrest and Kylie Jenner. Seas of Your Imagination (Purple)
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Amanda Arrou-tea's mesmerizing hyperrealist paintings have captivated audiences around the world with her mastery of color, light, and shadow. Through her expert use of oil on canvas, Arrou-tea creates a lifelike representation of people and mermaids, with intricate details and subtle nuances. The interplay of light and shadow adds a lifelike quality to the painting, creating a sense of depth and movement. Each of her original pieces is a unique and masterful expression of her artistry. This original artwork is 28 inches tall by 21 inches wide. It is framed in a black frame. Size and price include frame. It is stretched, wired, and ready to hang. It is signed by the artist on the back. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Amanda Arrou-tea (aka Mandi Oh) was born in the coastal city of San Sebastián in the Basque Country in the North of Spain. From a very young age, she felt a connection with mermaids, assuming they were real. As a deep Cancerian, she started portraying her feelings in oil on canvas when she was only nine years old. She began studying Fine Arts and attending various Universities with Erasmus and Seneca scholarships between Spain and France. These experiences made her develop a broader vision of painting, photography, and video. After finishing her degree in Fine Arts, Amanda Arrou-tea's artistic journey led her to Mexico, where she continued to hone her craft. The mystical energies, the sea salt, and the vibrant culture of the country deeply influenced her artwork, which began to incorporate elements of hyperrealism, particularly in her depictions of people in the water. Arrou-tea's use of negative space in a painting is also a defining feature of her style, allowing her subjects to be the focus while the background creates a sense of depth and dimension. After years of study, experimentation, and curatorships, Arrou-tea eventually settled down in Berlin, Germany, where she continues to create original works of art that are collected and admired internationally. Her bold figurative paintings are a testament to her mastery of the hyperrealism technique and her ability to capture the essence of her subjects in stunning detail. Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, Paris
Located in London, GB
'Parc des Buttes-Chaumont' in Paris, gouache on art paper, by Lucien Génin (circa 1930s). A charming depiction of well turned out Parisians enjoying a day at the park. Boaters, strollers and swans all co-mingle around the peaceful lake. The reflection of the rocky bluff in the water is superbly treated by Génin. It's a cheerful and uplifting image of days-gone-by in 1930s Paris. The park takes its name from the 'bare hill' (chauve-mont) that once occupied the site. It became a place where gypsum was mined, and where the limestone was quarried to be used in buildings in Paris and the United States. Worse, though, it was a site that also became a dumping ground. Luckily, during the 19th-century renovation of Paris under Napoleon III, chauve-mont was chosen as a place for a large park, as part of the emperor's fascination with endowing Paris with green spaces. The artificial lake created at that time wraps around a hilly central island. The lake attracts waterfowl and other birds and is stocked with fish. The 19th-century planners cleaned up the site and added tons of soil to fill the pits left by a limestone mining operation. Then dynamite was used to "sculpt" the site into the craggy shapes seen today, including the 50-metre-high central hill with cliffs, an interior grotto, pinnacles, and arches. Up on top, overlooking the rest of the park - and depicted in this artwork - is a small, round belvedere, based on the Roman Temple of Vesta in Italy. From that spot you can see a lovely view of Montmartre and the white cupolas of the Sacre-Coeur. The painting is in very good condition. It has been newly framed and glazed with museum-quality glass (anti-reflective and UV protection) to preserve this significant artwork for decades to come. Dimensions with frame: H 62 cm / 24.4" W 76 cm / 29.9" Dimensions without frame: H 48.5 cm / 19.1" W 63 cm / 24.8" About the Artist: After the devastation of the First World War, Lucien Génin (1894 - 1953) left his provincial home in the autumn of 1919 to find his fortune among the lively Parisians in the heart of Montmartre. Génin befriended the painters Frank Will, Gen Paul, Émile Boyer, Marcel Leprin...
