About the Item

Closeup Portrait of a male Deer with Antlers, photographed by David Yarrow. All prints are limited edition. Available in multiple sizes. High-end framing on request. All prints are done and signed by the artist. The collector receives an additional certificate of authenticity from the gallery. “Jura” by David Yarrow is a striking black-and-white photograph that captures the raw majesty of a red deer stag in the rugged landscape of Jura, Scotland. The image showcases the stag’s powerful presence and intricate antler details, set against a minimalist background that highlights its noble stance. Yarrow’s signature style, known for its dramatic monochromatic tones, brings a sense of depth and texture, emphasizing the strength and character of the animal. This piece is a testament to Yarrow’s ability to capture the spirit of the wild, evoking a timeless connection between the subject and its natural habitat. David Yarrow is a British fine art photographer and one of the world's most spectacular and best-selling nature photographers. Visual storytelling is his craft, and large-format monochrome prints are his medium. Through elaborately staged settings, Yarrow conjures the magic of the great American history, from the Wild West to Route 66. In his wildlife photography, he captures the planet's beauty. Majestic lions, sleek panthers, and free-roaming buffalos populate his works, trumped only by the female bombshells Yarrow places beside them. While highlighting the untamed side of supermodels such as Cara Delevingne or Cindy Crawford, Yarrow portrays the wild beasts in the most human way possible. PREISS FINE ARTS celebrates 15 years of successful collaborations with only the most esteemed photographers and collectors. Available Sizes: Standard 37" x 44" Unframed 52" x 59" Framed Edition of 12 Large 56" x 66" Unframed 71" x 81" Framed Edition of 12 “The grandeur of the Tetons has been celebrated by artists for 150 years. It was an integral part of Thomas Moran’s life and, of course, the mountain range played a material role in the photographic journey of Ansel Adams. His legacy still holds a tight grip on a Jackson Hole community hosting hundreds of capable photographers every week. As an artist, it is a place in which to enjoy the visual overload rather than attempt to break new ground; that would be a fine trick. I have long been an admirer of the photographer Tommy Mangelsen whose body of work is a love letter to this pocket of America. For many years we have shared the same New York Publisher - Rizzoli - and he sets a high bar with his body of authentic images in the Tetons and beyond. I have a good friend in Jackson, who, for many years, has made a living by ploughing snow on private roads in the winter months. It is his business to know every road in the community and in the days before my arrival he scouted the land either side of these single-track roads for big bull moose. They are not that hard to find in the area near Kelly - especially in late November and December - but I needed to be in situ very early in the day. It was never going to be easy to get a Cigar Shot as there needs to be a sense of place in any picture taken here. Not to include the Tetons in the frame would be akin to filming in Zermatt and not including the Matterhorn. They are on a par as backdrops. To have the Tetons as a canvas requires a high cloud...
