About the Item
Thomas Arthur Robertson color serigraph titled “Flight.” This print is in excellent condition with strong fresh color.
It’s an edition of 43 and was created, circa 1940s. Signed in pencil lower right and titled lower left.
Image size: 7 3/4" H x 9 3/4" W. Edition size is seen at lower center. This item is unframed.
Tom Robertson (1911-1976) was known for his stylized portraits in the 1930s. His work evolved into non-objective imagery in the 1940s. Robertson studied serigraphy in New Orleans in the 1930s and began to concentrate on printmaking, circa 1940. Robertson became an advocate of prints as affordable original works of art and presented lectures demonstrating silkscreen technique.
