Female Figure is an original modern artwork realized in the half of the XVIII Century by the Italian artist Domenico Cunego (Verona, 1724 or 1725 - Rome, 1803).

Excellent Etching depicting a female standing figure, an allegory. The impression is very fresh and has been realized wih soft and delicate strokes.
The work has been realized by the Italian artist Domenico Cunego (Verona, 1724 or 1725 - Rome, 1803). He was an Italian engraver; he began his artistic career as a painter, producing several works, which are either lost or otherwise unidentifiable. At 18 he started engraving, a technique on which he was probably self-taught. The engravings he made on Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel, published in the Schola Italica Picturae (1773) by Gavin Hamilton, were an important source for the artists of his time. Cunego is relevant not only for the reproductions of the paintings of his fellow countryman Guido Reni and other contemporary Italians such as Antonio Balestra, Francesco Solimena, and Felice Boscaratti, but also for the work with British artists who came to Italy for the Grand Tour. Among them Gavin Hamilton's cycle of six works on the Iliad and David Allan's work, Origin of Portraiture.
