A finely detailed engraving depicting one of the Solomonic columns from St. Peter's Baldachin in St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican City. The print is from Antonio Lafreri's Speculum Romanae Magnificentiae (Mirror of Roman Magnificence), a series of prints documenting artworks, architecture, and city views of ancient and modern Rome. These prints were sold individually to tourists and collectors, or purchased in larger groups that were often bound together in albums. Signed within the plate. Well presented in a wooden frame with a brown canvas mount. On paper.
