About the Item

Walking the line between respectful homage and tongue-in-cheek appropriation, Deborah Kass mimics and reworks the signature styles of iconic 20th-century male artists including Frank Stella, Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollock, and Ed Ruscha; in the process, she comments on the patriarchal narratives and subject matter that have dominated art history. Kass is perhaps best known for her riffs on Warhol’s famous color-blocked screenprints, but her practice has also included text-based works, neon signs, sculptures, photographs, and paintings—all united by a feminist approach. Kass has exhibited in cities across the world, and her work belongs in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Guggenheim Museum, and the Whitney Museum of American Art.

“Equal Rights, Flower of Democracy” Chuck Sperry Screenprint
By Chuck Sperry
Located in Draper, UT
I am very happy to reveal my poster to raise awareness for the Equal Rights Amendment. This issue means so much to me. Equality is the central issue of our day. “Equality is the flower of democracy. Passing the Equal Rights Amendment — at long last — will be the path to gender equality for our American democracy. I am grateful to be called upon to include my voice in the collective call to bring about gender equality by amending the Constitution with passage of the ERA, and I was quick to reach out to fellow artists to join the call to action.” — Chuck Sperry, artist statement for Artists 4 ERA VoteEqualityUS is a nonpartisan grassroots effort promoting equal rights for all Americans, working to ensure the addition of the fully-ratified 28th Amendment (Equal Rights) to the United States Constitution...

Zhiyong Jing Silkscreen Print "Expectation" Edition of 100 Contemporary Art
By Zhiyong Jing
Located in Draper, UT
"Expectation" Edition of only 100 prints. Signed and Numbered by the artist in pencil 13/100. Born in 1982, Jing Zhiyong's creative work was predominantly inspired by the 1990s. A collective of artists working in the United Kingdom, who came to be known as the YBAs, or Young British Artists, defined the artistic culture of the 1990s. Affiliated loosely by their age and nationality, they were a varied collective of practitioners. A number of the YBAs attended the Royal College of Art and Goldsmiths in London, and were favoured by the ‘super collector’ of the time, Charles Saatchi. The most renowned member of the group is Damien Hirst, and other members included Chris Ofili, Tracey Emin, Marc Quinn, Gavin Turk, Sarah Lucas...
