1936 Original Poster Pyrenees I must fight until victory Frenchman be persuaded!
Located in PARIS, FR
Pierre Mail, the French poster artist born in 1902, made a lasting impact with his 1936 poster, "Pyrénées, il faut que je lutte jusqu'à la victoire, Français sois en persuadé!" (Pyrenees, I must fight until victory, Frenchman, be persuaded!). This vintage artwork not only embodies determination but also showcases Mail's talent in delivering powerful messages through visuals. Mail's composition features a resolute French soldier against a mountainous backdrop, underlining the imperative to fight until victory. The bold typography emphasizes the message's urgency. This poster gains significance in its historical context, created during a period of political turmoil in France. It serves as a call to action, urging the French people to persevere. Pierre Mail's influence extended beyond posters, as he made notable contributions to magazines and journals, shaping the visual culture of his time. Today, Mail's 1936 poster remains a historical artifact, reminding us of an era when art played...

Original rare photo poster of the S.S. United States chimneys lit up at night
Located in PARIS, FR
Rare photo poster of the S.S. United States chimneys lit up at night. The United States, nicknamed "The Big U" is an American transatlantic liner of the company United States Lines. It was built from 1950 to 1952 under the direction of naval architect William Francis Gibbs with the support of the U.S. government, in order to provide the country with a reliable and fast ship that could carry passengers in peacetime, but also troop transports in the event of a conflict between the United States and the USSR. It was assigned to the North Atlantic line, New York-Le Havre-Southampton. The ship is the largest built by the United States, and it is also the fastest liner ever put into service. She won the prestigious Blue Ribbon on her maiden voyage in July 1952. Her record of 3 days, 10 hours and 40 minutes for a North Atlantic crossing has never been beaten by another liner. The ship is also characterized by a rather austere and functional decoration wanted by its designer. Her career was short-lived as the ship quickly had to face competition from air traffic. In 1969, it was withdrawn from service. The ship was then bought by various private owners between 1978 and 2003. Conversion into a cruise ship was considered, but none of them saw the light of day. In 2003, the Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) bought the ship for the same purpose. However, the United States did not leave the Philadelphia dock where it has been moored since 1996. A splendid, historic poster! It was 1939 when this poster was made. All the major British soldiers had gone abroad to fight, and there were no soldiers left to defend the country. So the country called on all those too old for the army and teenagers aged 14 and over to join the home front. The Home Service Battalions were a force of the British Army during the First and Second World Wars, intended for national defense and other tasks. Those who joined these battalions were exempt from service outside the UK. War - United Kingdom - 39-45 Men 41...
