Furniture designer and architect Philipp Mainzer is a creative force who draws on multiculturalism, warm design and art to inspire his trendsetting pieces. Establishing one of the most celebrated German design brands, e15, Mainzer creates furnishings for the modern era, with a traditional touch.

Born in Germany in 1969, Mainzer later studied in London, majoring in product design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and architecture at the Architectural Association. Working in the tradition of German furniture makers, Mainzer follows form with function and emphasizes the quality of materials like solid wood and marble.

Mainzer practices architecture in New York through his firm, Philipp Mainzer Office for Architecture and Design. He is a member of the executive committee of the German Design Council and gives lectures on a host of topics, including architecture, design and branding.
