About Intrigue CollectionFounder Eric von Robertson is an artist, traveler and collector of artifacts, who gained his Masters in Fine Arts from Amsterdam’s Sandberg Institute in 2008. To extend his interests in nomadic art, textiles and early modernist design, in 2012 he established the Intrigue Collection. This collection specializes in trading the finest vintage Berber tribal carpets and Dutch Art Deco glass and ceramics. Berber carpets are an essential element in homes worldwide thanks to their popularity with Modernist architects and designers. From the 1930s to 1960s, Alvar and Aino Aalto, Le Corbusier and Arne Jacobsen, among others, styled their interiors using the abstract rug motifs of Beni Ouarain and Azilal tribes. These handmade woolen carpets offer an extraordinary combination of minimalism and inventive patterns, which continues to allure people’s imagination and inspire contemporary interiors.
