A Pair of Rare Late Victorian 19th Century Aesthetic Movement British Brass Firedogs by Benham and Froud.
Available to buy a pair of 19th Century, late Victorian Brass firedogs made by the London metalworks Benham and Froud with the design attributed to Dr Christopher Dresser.
The pair represent an unusual design, scarce and sort after. Benham and Froud marked the firedogs with their signature orb to the underside of each vertical. The firedogs comprise finely turned crossbars, more prominent in diameter than the lower ones and sit between uprights with sphere tops mounted on curved legs.
